The Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza is looking for a new design for the shirts that are handed out to the first 150 people who catch a fish at the contest. Are you a student in the Brainerd Lakes Area who is interested in having your design seen by over 10,000 people? Send us your submission! The winner of this contest will have the design featured on the 2024 Extravaganza t-shirts, be recognized on social media, get a free contest ticket, and will receive a free t-shirt with the design on it!
Contest Rules
1 – Binding Agreement
In order to enter the Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza T-Shirt Logo Contest (the “Contest”), a qualifying student (as described more fully in Section 2, below) and their legal guardian (a qualifying student and their legal guardian are hereinafter collectively referred to as “You” or “Entrant”) must agree to the Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza T-Shirt Logo Contest Rules (the “Rules”). Therefore, please read these Rules prior to entry to ensure You understand and agree. You agree that submission of an entry in the Contest constitutes agreement to these Rules. You may not submit an entry to the Contest and are not eligible to receive the prizes described in these Rules unless you agree to these Rules. These Rules form a binding legal agreement between you and the Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza with respect to the Contest.
2 – Eligibility
To be eligible to enter the Contest, an Entrant must:
2.1 Be a registered student (K-12) for the 2023-24 academic year at any school located in Aitkin County, Cass County, Crow Wing County, Mille Lacs County, Morrison County, or Todd County.
2.2 Students who are under the age of 18 must have the written consent of a parent or legal guardian in order for the Student’s design to be eligible.
2.3 Any false information provided within the context of the Contest by Entrant concerning identity, mailing address, telephone number, email address, ownership of right or non-compliance with these Rules or the like may result in the immediate elimination of the entrant from the Contest.
3 – Design Standards
Designs submitted must meet the following criteria:
3.1 The submitted design must include the words “I caught a fish”.
3.2 The submitted design must include the Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza logo.
3.3 The submitted design must be for the front of the shirt only.
3.4 The submitted design must not be derogatory, offensive, threatening, defamatory, disparaging, libellous or contain any content that is inappropriate, profane, tortuous, slanderous, discriminatory in any way, or that promotes hatred or harm against any group or person, or otherwise does not comply with the theme and spirit of the Contest. Submissions must not contain content, material or any element that is unlawful, or otherwise in violation of or contrary to all applicable federal, state, or local laws and regulation.
3.5 The submitted design must not contain any content, material or element that displays any third party advertising, slogan, logo, trademark, representation of characters indicating a sponsorship or endorsement by a third party, commercial entity or that is not within the spirit of the Contest, as determined by the Brainerd Jaycee Ice Fishing Extravaganza T-shirt Contest Selection Committee (“Selection Committee”), in its sole discretion. By submitting an entry, the Entrant consents that it is his/her own original work and that he/she has all necessary rights and permissions to use any included elements. The Selection Committee reserves the right to make adjustments and alterations to the winning entry. The winning artist grants to the Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza the exclusive right to the design, including any modifications thereof, to be used on promotional/marketing and other Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza materials. The Entrant shall indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza and Brainerd Jaycees, Inc. from and against any and all suits, actions, claims, damages, liabilities, judgments, losses and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of any violation of third party rights (including, without limitation, intellectual property infringement, misappropriation, dilution or violation) in connection with the Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza use, distribution, publishing, sale or exploitation of the design.
3.6 For designs submitted digitally, the submitted design must be in high resolution vector format .ai .pdf. .eps.
3.7 Designs will be judged by the Selection Committee on the following criteria:
Originality – Creativity
Visibility – Eye catching and visible from a distance
Feasibility – Must be easy to reproduce
3.8 As a condition of entry, Entrant grants Brainerd Jaycees, Inc. a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, transferable, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, adapt, modify, publish, distribute, publicly perform, create a derivative work from, and publicly display the Entrant’s design for any purpose, including printing and reproducing on clothing and/or other materials, displaying on the Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza website, without any attribution or compensation to Entrant. Design entries will not be returned. Brainerd Jaycees, Inc. retains all rights in the Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza and entry into this Contest will in no case serve to transfer any Brainerd Jaycees, Inc. intellectual property rights to the Entrant.
4 – Rule on Entries
No purchase necessary to enter or win; there is no entry fee to submit a design. However, all entries must comply with these Rules and shall be submitted as follows:
4.1 If submitted by U.S. Mail, please send a hard copy of the design as well as a completed and executed Entry Form to:

Designs submitted via U.S. Mail must be post-marked no later than May 26, 2023 to be eligible for consideration.
4.2 If submitted by email, completed and executed Entry Form and digital copies of design may be emailed to: chair@icefishing.org. Email and attachments must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. on May 31, 2023. For designs submitted digitally, the submitted design must be in high resolution vector format .ai .pdf. .eps.
4.3 Regardless of how submitted, all designs must be submitted with a completed Entry Form. Entries received without a completed Entry Form or without a parent’s or legal guardian’s signature will be disqualified.
4.4 Only one design submission per student.
5 – Important Dates
Submitted designs will be accepted April 1st- May 31st 2023. Only one design submission per contestant. No design submissions will be accepted after 11:59 p.m. on May 31, 2023. No exceptions.
5.2 The contest winner will be announced on or before June 30th 2023. Winner will be announced on facebook and the Selection Committee will email or call guardian.
6 – Final Decision
The final decision on whether to accept and/or print a submission belongs to the Brainerd Jaycee Ice Fishing Extravaganza Selection Committee. If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, Brainerd Jaycees, Inc. reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. The Selection Committee shall have the right to disqualify any Entrant who the Selection Committee determines to be in violation of these Rules. The Selection Committee’s determination of a Rules violation shall be absolute and not subject to appeal.
7 – Publicity
By entering the Contest, Entrants consent to use of their name and/or likeness by Brainerd Jaycee Ice Fishing Extravaganza in any media or promotional activity.
8 – Choice of Law / Dispute Resolution
The terms of these Rules, the Contest, the Entry Form, and the agreement between the Entrant and the Brainerd Jaycees, Inc. are interpreted under and governed by Minnesota Law. The Entrant agrees that any dispute regarding any design entry, these Rules, or the application of these Rules, shall be venued in Crow Wing County District Court, Minnesota.
